This is a dumb post

sometimes I look at how styles are coming back and recycling and get

slightly disappointed. I mean I really like seeing 60s styles suits and such and more vintages things for sale! But if you look back in historic fashion, the form of the dress practically remade itself every few decades. The difference between a Civil War hoopskirt was worlds different than the bustle of the 1880s.

More modern eras have kind of turned into a recycling loop, I guess? At the core, fashion is changing on it’s own, but since the… hm… 20s or such, everything has turned into fashion with little underlining support. Suits are suits, dresses are dresses with very little use of corsets and bustles and wiring and etc. What changed with every phase before then was a completely different structure of the dresses themselves.

Fashion is more comfortable now, despite some women walking on small points on their feet. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but that’s what’s limiting us from pushing what fashion is, itself. Fashion is more comfortable and more everywhere. Back then, dressing as a woman was painful and limiting.

I just want fashion is turn to more extremes. Have a somewhat uncomfortable, but incredibly beautiful form of formal gown come into style. Push the limit, and allow couture to dribble into mainstream styles.

I honestly don’t know what the point of this post was. I just want big beautiful dresses to wear.

I think I’m basically saying that fashion is turning into a cycle of repetition and borrowing of old times now instead of recreating itself in phases. But there are a lot of things preventing that from happening.

I really wanted to hug Louis XVI and say that he did his best

Ughggghhh, idkkk. That’s like hugging George Bush Jr. and saying he tried his best. Incompetence basically. It doesn’t matter how hard you’re trying, you should have the backbone to put your foot down or at least realize that what you are doing is hurting your people not helping. Louis did neither. I agree he was really dopey and pitiful, but to say he tried his best…I don’t think so.He was not king material, but not many of us are. Having an ignorant and frivolous wife didn’t help either.

Bush willingly agreed to become president, Louis didn’t really agree to be king.I don’t want to defend him though, Louis was a shit king and doesn’t deserve much respect as one.
